Poached Pear

Poached pear is usually served for desert. We love eating it for breakfast with yogurt and a pinch of cinnamon. Pear is sweet enough to be consumed without any sweeteners such as honey, sugar or maple syrup. This is a very simple recipe and will not take you more than 10 minutes to prepare.

Ingredients:

2 Anjou pears peeled and cut in halves or in quarters leaving the stem intact

Cinnamon Stick

Cinnamon

Directions:

In a small pot boil 3-4 cups of water with cinnamon stick. Decrease the heat to medium low and place the pears into the liquid. Cover and cook pears for about 10 minutes, so that pears become tender. Turn of the heat and place pears into serving dish, place them in the refrigerator to cool off. Serve with organic vanilla yogurt topped with cinnamon.
